Agriculture
Agriculture faculty was established in 1989 and started working at Herat University in order to train specialist and experts in cultivating and stockbreeding. This faculty has eight departments; Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Protection, Animal Science, Economics and Agricultural Extension, Soil Science and Irrigation, Forestry and Natural resources, Food Technology where students are studying. Enrolling to this faculty is public after Konkoor Examination. Students study in general, but after forth semester, they are introduced to departments based on their choices at Konkoor.

Library and other formative resources
Lecturers as well as students have access to computers and internet in order to solve their academic problems. Agriculture Faculty has helped its lecturers and students with offering an technical library in which there are 6500 special books for different fields of agriculture. In addition, its eBook library with thousands of books could bring a considerable impact on students and lecturers knowledge. Furthermore, a computer lab that was established by Herat University Chancellor helped students and lecturers in accessing to the internet.

We can refer to the following items as facilities in Faculty of Agriculture:

Equipped classrooms that serve students and faculty. The classrooms are furnished with modern systems, with natural and artificial light, chairs, writing white boards, floor and washable walls. In each classroom a projector is installed. There are 16 classrooms available to the faculty members of the Faculty of Agriculture, and several classrooms and rooms are available to the Veterinary Faculty out of all classes.
2. Laboratories that include the Laboratory of Animal Science, Food and Nutrition, Soil Science, Human Resources, Gardening and Plant Protection. Each laboratory has enough equipment to conduct scientific experiments.

Laboratories of the Animal Science Department: The Animal Science Department has three labs in different departments; each section equipped with all laboratory facilities and has animal skeletons of sheep, goats, and chicken, cock, pigeon and non-farm animals. Soil and Irrigation Laboratory includes instruments such as flame photometer, autoclave, centrifugal, pitch meter, dispensing water, mixing machine, microscope digital scales, chemicals and Etc. The laboratory also has several microscopes, centrifuges and autoclaves, an ion meter, a chemical, a test set, a distiller, a juggernaut, volume of water, etc. The necessary tools are used in this laboratory.

The laboratory of the Echnoromi equipped with a microscope and advanced coloring materials, has all the laboratory equipment’s that are provided for students to study and have practical work for their good.

The laboratory of Gardening is equipped with a microscope and advanced coloring material, a sugar measuring device in fruits, a jigging machine, a mixing machine, a welding machine, flavoring materials, special bottle, a variety of knives, saws, bonding appliances, and shovels. Gardening supplies are provided for students to study and have practical tasks to be their best.

The Plant Protection Laboratory has been created to accommodate practical pest and plant diseases and practical exercises for experienced insects. The lab has some tools such as a variety of needles, a surgical blade to create a gap in different parts of the insect's membership, microscope, and other supplies needed for this lab. And Vegetable and Animal Clinic, which includes a check-in room, examination room, cultivation, observation room, general laboratory, conference room. The clinic was built in mid-1390 by one of the partner institutions of Peace Education in Pollen, and has four homes with a total area of 400 square meters located west of Herat University. The center is equipped with a registration desk for registration of specimens, an examination room for diagnosis of plant diseases, and basic facilities for detecting certain diseases of the vegetable.
The conference room has the capacity to hold academic conferences at the faculty level or conducting training courses for other institutions, and is equipped with a lumbar computer base and a projector base.
1. Agricultural Research - Faculty of Agriculture has two parts
a. Animal science has cattle and calves, 6 goats and 14 sheep and a small breeding poultry. Experienced animals are used to carry out some experiments and identify local breeds of animals and carry out practical tasks such as interior, surgery, parasitological, pharmacology, and anthropology of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary, which is a good partner in this field.
b. Agricultural Farm: Includes two branches of vegetable science and horticulture. It has agricultural and horticultural crops including grains, legumes, industrial plants, fruits, industrial plants, vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants. In addition, the farm has agricultural machinery such as large and large tractors, reapers, and tillers, There are several facilities, two greenhouses, etc. The facilities are used by teachers and students in scientific and practical work.
4. A computer room containing 65 computers with Internet access for use by students. These computers are equipped with advanced systems and are based on the division of the time available to student representatives. These systems are used to conduct computer training and computer training courses, students' research and the use of Internet resources to complete homework and monographs, and finally, for typing scientific and curriculum subjects, all of which are training facilities for Applicants for this faculty will be used. In the area of livelihood facilities, those students who are from outside the province or from distant districts of Herat province can use luggage facilities according to the regulations.
