Herat University Academic Council meeting

Herat University Academic Council meeting was held with the presence of Prof, Abdul Aziz Nomani Chancellor of Herat University, Molavi Menatu-Allah Akhundzadeh, special representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Vice-Chancellor of Finance and Administration, Dr. Sultan Ahmad Taraki, the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs of Herat University and Prof, Gholam Hazrat Hasas, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, along with the deans of faculties and other faculty members.

The meeting started with recitation of some verses from the Holy Quran; then Prof, Abdul Aziz Nomani Chancellor of Herat University, prayed for the soul of those who lost their lives due to the recent earthquake and asked God to give patience to survivors. Then he said: “in order to sympathize and help our dear compatriots in earthquake-struck provinces, we created a committee to collect cash and other contributions,” so he asked all the personnel of Herat University to corporate with this noble committee.
After that, the chancellor of Herat University talked about some of the challenges in the university, he said: “Herat University delegation board understood these challenges and tries to provide facilities to lecturers who stayed with their people in such a situation.”
Mr. Nomani described the future plans of Herat University and presented necessary instructions and guidelines to attendees and asked for serious attention of Deans and heads of departments to their duties. Once again, he emphasized on supporting the faculty members and vowed to consider the lecturers’ problems.
The members of the Academic Council also announced their support for the leadership of Herat University and promised that they will spare no effort to advance the assigned affairs with full support and seriousness.
Afterward, members of the meeting exchanged views on the issues and took necessary decisions.
