This scientific group was founded by the establishment of the Sharia Faculty in 1962 as the leading part of this Faculty, with the help of experienced academic cadre and the experienced students. This field covers the field of Islamic law, Jurisprudence, and a comparative study of the laws of the situation with Islamic law.

As previously stated, the Faculty of Sharia has a special purpose that is to educate the cadre of knowledgeable, skilled and serving the community. The trained cadres of this faculty are serving in the justice, and education system of the country and are practically working for local, regional, national and social development, and realize the faculty's degree as much as possible.
