Drugs and Environmental Pollution
This was the title of a scientific conference held today by the Scientific Affairs Directorate of Herat University.
The conference was attended by Sheikh-ul-Quran and Hadith, Mawlana Abdul Ghani Haqqani (may Allah preserve him), the President of Herat University, university deputies, faculty deans, and professors. It took place in the conference hall of the Faculty of Agriculture
The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Sheikh-ul-Quran and Hadith, Mawlana Abdul Ghani Haqqani (may Allah preserve him), the President of Herat University, expressed his gratitude to the Scientific Affairs Directorate for organizing the event. He spoke about the stages of prohibition of alcohol in Islam and its harms, highlighting the undesirable customs of the pre-Islamic era and explaining the views of Islamic jurists and scholars on the prohibition of drugs.
Following this, Associate Professor Dr. Shafiq Ahmad Joya, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, presented a scientific paper on air pollution and its causes. Assistant Professor Sayed Ali Agha Kazemian, from the Faculty of Social Sciences, provided a sociological analysis of drug addiction in Herat province.
Assistant Professor Mohammad Firoz Madbar, from the Faculty of Public Administration and Policy, discussed the factors influencing youth inclination towards drug use.
Additionally, Assistant Professor Ali Ahmad Amiri, from the Faculty of Public Administration and Policy, shared insights into modern approaches and challenges in addiction prevention management. Assistant Professor Naqibullah Azizi, from the Faculty of Education, presented his research on the prevalence of relapse among drug addicts in Herat city.
The conference concluded with a prayer by Al-Haj Mawlawi Abdullah Tayyib, Head of the Dawah and Guidance Department.
