Library of the Faculty: Specialized Library
Sharia and Islamic Sciences has a rich specialized library in the field of jurisprudence, law and Islamic teachings. The library has a capacity of 40,000 books. Currently, there are about 8,300 books in the field of interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, Hadith, Islamic law, jurisprudence, and Arabic rules in the national, Arabic and English languages. Recently, authoritative Islamic law books have been provided by the famous Lebanese and Egyptian publishing houses. This specialized library is unique in terms of structure and content at the Faculty of Sharia in Afghanistan.
Legal clinic
It is obvious that Islamic Law Education requires the acquisition of legal and legal practical skills, including familiarization with various stages of judicial review, the recognition of justice and judicial organs, and the education of the profession of defense lawyer. In Afghanistan, Herat University, as the pioneer institution in clinical education for the first time in the country, established a legal clinic with the assistance of the Faculty of Law and Sharia in the month of November 2008. From its inception with the financial support of the Open Society Institute, it continued its work in the academic year of 1393, and received two bundles of funds from the University of Herat. The center offers services in the areas of criminal, civil, children and legal awareness.
Working Areas of the Departments
Graduates of this faculty have been employed in various executive, judicial branches of the country and have proved their worth in various fields. Examples include some heads of appellate courts, officials from the Center for the Prevention of Corruption, Judiciary, Elementary Courts, Chief Justice and Professional Members of the Department of Justice, Education, Guidance, Hajj and Endowment, Labor and Social Affairs.
