Recognition of Dedicated and Distinguished Faculty and Staff at Herat University
In collaboration with Herat University, the Herat Provincial Administration organized a special ceremony to honor the hardworking and distinguished faculty members and staff of this academic institution, acknowledging the value and importance of the university by presenting them with awards and certificates of appreciation.
The event was held in the conference hall of the Faculty of Agriculture at Herat University, attended by Sheikh Al-Hadith Mawlana Noor Ahmad Islam Jar, the Governor of Herat; Sheikh Al-Quran and Al-Hadith Mawlana Abdul Ghani Haqqani (Hafizahullah), the President of Herat University; Mawlawi Ahmadullah Muttaqi, the Director of Information and Culture of Herat; university deputies; deans of faculties; faculty members; and administrative staff.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. The President of Herat University, Sheikh Al-Quran and Al-Hadith Mawlana Abdul Ghani Haqqani (Hafizahullah), welcomed the attendees and expressed his gratitude to the Herat Provincial Administration for its attention to this academic institution. He highlighted the importance of adhering to administrative principles and mentioned that the principle of motivation was practiced during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions, emphasizing the need to follow the Prophet's example in encouraging faculty and staff.
The Governor of Herat, Sheikh Al-Hadith Mawlana Noor Ahmad Islam Jar, spoke about the esteemed position of scholars and intellectuals, describing them as the backbone of the system and key contributors to the nation’s self-sufficiency, technological development, and progress. He stressed the importance of unity, harmony, acceptance of others, and fostering closer ties between religious schools and universities. He also emphasized sincerity in work and adherence to the principles and laws of the Islamic system.
The Governor further highlighted the remarkable achievements of the Islamic Emirate, particularly in Herat Province, mentioning the inauguration of hundreds of factories in Herat's industrial park as a symbol of economic growth. He underscored the importance of utilizing the skills of university-qualified professionals in developmental and reconstruction projects.
Mawlawi Ahmadullah Muttaqi, the Director of Information and Culture of Herat, emphasized the critical role of scholars and intellectuals in Afghanistan's future. He expressed his gratitude for organizing this event, highlighting the prominence of the country’s academic institutions.
Later, Sheikh Al-Hadith Mawlawi Abdul Hadi Zulahadi, the Vice President for Student Affairs at Herat University, acknowledged the efforts of faculty members in imparting specialized knowledge to students and the services of administrative staff.
At the end of the ceremony, the awards and certificates of appreciation prepared by the Herat Provincial Administration and Herat University were distributed to faculty members and staff.
It is worth noting that the Herat University administration also presented a commemorative artwork to the Herat Provincial Administration as a token of gratitude.
