Online Seminar: Anxiety – A Silent Enemy or a Positive Motivator?

The Counseling Center of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at Herat University organized an online seminar titled "Anxiety: A Silent Enemy or a Positive Motivator?" for the heads of counseling centers at universities across the country.
This seminar was initiated by Mohammad Shoaib Shaheer, the head of the Counseling Center at the Student Services Coordination Directorate, and was attended by several officials and counselors from various universities.
During the seminar, the concept of anxiety was analyzed from different perspectives, and its distinction from fear was explained. The physical and psychological symptoms of anxiety were also discussed, along with how anxiety, in certain situations, can serve as a positive motivator, driving individuals toward success.
Another key part of the seminar was presenting scientific and practical strategies for managing and reducing anxiety. In this regard, meditation techniques, breathing exercises, negative thought management, and lifestyle changes were introduced as effective methods.
