The meeting of the Scientific Council of Herat University began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. During the meeting, Sheikh Al-Quran and Hadith, Mawlana Abdul Ghani Haqani, the President of Herat University, spoke about the importance of councils and consultation from an Islamic perspective, describing the Scientific Council as an effective step for exchanging views on important university matters.
The University President also announced that daily Quranic interpretation classes would be held for university staff after the conclusion of exams.
Following this, Mawlawi Mohammad Musa Fayeq, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Qari Mohammad Basheer Mujahid, Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Professor Azizur Rahman Niazi, Vice President for Research and the University Journal, presented reports on third-quarter activities. They also discussed the budget forecast for the year 1404, the organization of the international scientific-research seminar titled "Imam Abu Hanifa (May Allah have mercy on him)," and the evaluation of research committees across various university faculties.
At the end of the meeting, the members reviewed files related to faculty appointments, dismissals, and academic promotions. They also discussed renaming the Urban Planning Department in the Ministry of Higher Education database, the periodic review of the university’s academic programs, and the approval of the curriculum for the Master’s Program in Jurisprudence and Law of the Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies, as well as the Veterinary Master’s Program with a specialization in Ethobiology in the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. Necessary decisions were made accordingly.
