Public Administration
Herat University, as a dynamic and growing scientific center, understood the necessity of the Afghan community to specialize in policymaking, governance and management by presenting the proposal No. 1987 dated January 1, 2011, and establishing the Faculty of Public Administration and Policy as the honorable Minister of Higher Education. Honoring the establishment of the first faculty of public administration and Policy at the level of Afghanistan's higher education, this faculty has been appointed as an independent faculty under the name of Public Administration and Policy under the name of the Ministry of Higher Education under the name of the Ministry of Higher Education, dated 2945/2310. With the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and their accompanying delegation, the governor of Herat Leadership, faculty and student at Herat University, heads of government departments the faculty was inaugurated and professor Sayed Farhad Shahidzadah was introduced as the first president of the faculty.
Organization and manpower
The faculty includes faculty chair, faculty deputy, departments including public administration, public policy, as well as general management and executive management, specialized library, internship, quality assurance committee, disciplinary committee, scholarship committee, the Research Committee, the Committee on Cultural Affairs and Research, the Student Services Committee, the Sports Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee, the Curriculum Development Committee, the Gender Affairs Committee, and the Examination Committee, are working full time in accordance with the duty plan to upgrade the faculty. It should be noted, however, that from among the departments mentioned, the Department of Public Administration has officially commenced the work of the Honorable Author of the Ministry of Higher Education and University of Herat, and the Public Policy Department is informally, but according to the necessity it's working.

The faculty also has a general manager of teaching at the 4th Administrative Board, Executive Director at Fifth Position, and three Service Officers who are in charge of the relevant departments.

The Faculty of Public Administration and Public Policy currently has 488 students, of whom 281 are male and 207 are female.
