Scientific Conference Held by the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication at Herat University

A research-based scientific conference titled "Examining the Impact of Facebook Use on Family Values Among Students of Herat University" was organized by the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication.
The results of this new study, conducted with the participation of 360 students from Herat University, show that 87.2% of participants use Facebook daily for at least one to two hours.
Interestingly, 33.3% of the students assessed the negative impact of Facebook on their family values as "very low." Additionally, 33.5% of respondents believe that parents’ use of this social network also has a "very low" impact on family values.
The research indicates that most students use Facebook as a tool for entertainment and obtaining information, and they perceive its serious impact on family values to be limited.
Family values refer to the principles, beliefs, and norms that guide the relationships and behaviors of family members. They play a significant role in strengthening cohesion and harmony within the family. These values are often shaped by culture, religion, traditions, and shared family experiences.
