Faculty of Veterinary Science was established in the framework of the HeratUniversity in 2011.
How to promote to a Faculty?
The motivation of the Faculty of Veterinary Science in the framework of Herat University was to create a Department of Veterinary Medicine in the Faculty of Agriculture of Herat University, which was proposed in 2002 under the direction of the dean of the Faculty of Agriculture. After one decade, with the understanding that the spring of development of livestock, dairy, fish farming, bees, and silkworm under the field of agriculture in the region had started, the Herat University has made a major step in establishing the Faculty of Veterinary Science in the framework of this university. Finally, in 2011 the faculty was established.

The faculty has 13 members who have degrees of doctoral, master's and bachelor's degree.
Library of this faculty
The library of this faculty has more than 2,000 books in various fields such as anatomy, physiology, microbiology, ontology, petrology, interior, artificial propagation, pharmacology, parasitology, surgery, environmental law, services and development of veterinary medicine, epidemiology, diseases, prevention, treatment, feeding and maintenance of animals. The faculty also has an electrical library with more than 10,000 college courses in national and international languages, which are based on a number of computer systems.
Labs
The Faculty of Veterinary Science is intended to advance the practical work of students with the following laboratories:
Laboratory of Microbiology, Parasitology, Pharmacology, Petrology, Onto pathology, Physiology, Anatomy, Food Technology and Animal Clinic.
