ITCH Network Department

Planning and Managing network, Internet, network security, troubleshooting are the tasks of network department. Herat University has already started some IT processes mostly related to network infrastructure.

There exists a network infrastructure with physical servers and running services in HU IT center. In ITCH center, Servers provide needed infrastructure and back ends for required and demanded services such as Authentication, Web based services, Space for storing data and other similar issues. Currently an enterprise network solution called Univention is running as platform to provide all required services for Herat University. Hopefully In years 2014-2015, two teams of system and network administrators have joined an advance network and system administration training in a project called Univention at Technical University of Berlin. The Univention is used as an enterprise network solution for Herat University network infrastructure. The administrators who already know the Univention technology from training at TU Berlin in Germany, they keep running the existing server infrastructure in HU IT center.
