The history of faculty

The Engineering faculty was founded in Peshawar, Pakistan, in 1987 by help of some of the professors and continued its activities in the field of the spreading of engineering knowledge until 1992. Then this faculty was transferred to the city of Herat in the first years of the Mujahedeen victory and was covered by the IRC Institute and the CHA Institute and continued its work in the field of technology and engineering for enthusiasts in Herat. The activities of this faculty continued unofficially and beyond the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education by the year 2002, and that year the faculty officially joined the University of Herat and was covered by the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan

Faculty library

Engineering Faculty has a rich and specialized library with a total of 3500 books. These books include civil engineering, architecture, mechatronics and urban planning and are fully available to the users during the official hours and students can take advantage of library’s books after obtaining a membership card.

The Faculty laboratories

Engineering Faculty has many laboratories. These laboratories are in Concrete, Survey, Hydraulic, Soil, Bitumen, Asphalt, Mechatronics, Electronics, Digital, Fluid Mechanic, Mechanical, Mechatronics Workshop, Engineering Studio, Marble, Chemistry and Physics.

Students’ statistics of 2019

Currently,926 students from different provinces of the country are studying at the Engineering Faculty of Herat University that 733 of them are males and 191 are females.
