Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program
Vision:
The Master of Business Administration program at Herat University’s Faculty of Economics is committed to working with Afghan public and private sector institutions to train leaders and managers to address the serious economic and business challenges facing the next generation. By training next-generation business leaders, the program pledges to play a vital role in Afghanistan's long-term development of economic and competitive viability. Herat University’s Faculty of Economics is committed to playing a decisive role in management education in Afghanistan through the creation of business partnerships, market-based programs, and international cooperation with reputable universities around the world.
Mission
The Master's program in Business Administration aims at transferring knowledge and creating thought to be a cornerstone of practical knowledge and skills that help students successfully manage and lead organizations globally.
A brief look at the program
Master's Degree Program in Business Administration (MBA) at Herat University's Economics Faculty was launched in Autumn of 2017, The program works closely with the private sector and international partners. Launched in a two-year night business degree program, the Department of Commerce's masters program provides a rigorous and desirable academic experience in higher education.
The Master of Business Administration program is designed to meet the basic analytical, strategic, and management needs of public and private sector institutions in Afghanistan. The main purpose of this program is to prepare students to increase their effectiveness in the roles of managers and leaders in globally competitive environments and societies. This will be achieved through the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and abilities incorporated into the program.
The program is specifically designed to provide the growth and development of students who are often thought to be professional staff - in their current roles or in the post they have acquired after completing their degree. Eventually, these are the ones who will lead the next generation of Afghan public and private sector institutions. The Masters of Business Administration program seeks to develop and strengthen students' critical thinking and attitude. This program will work on intellectual precision and market communication at the same time. The program is not exclusively devoted to knowledge transfer but seeks to empower learners to get things done, improve their organizations, and anticipate opportunities and challenges in the regional and domestic labor market. This program will focus on:

Objectives of the Master of Business Administration program
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed to train efficient managers to manage organizations in the economic, social, and service sectors. The main purpose is to accept graduate students with a bachelor's degree from universities and make capable of performing the following tasks:
Effective and efficacious management and leadership of the organization or its various departments
• Making valuable changes in an organization
• Designing, guiding, and leading change across organizations after gaining extensive scientific and practical experience in management
• Creativity and innovation by creating new activities within the organization
• Providing consulting and research services in various fields to managers of different levels of organizations
• Preparing students interested in pursuing a doctorate degree in business administration or related disciplines
• Training specialized staff in various fields required by government agencies
Master of Business Administration program
The Master's Degree Program in Business and Economics at Herat University's Economics Faculty is based on the plans and strategy developed in collaboration with the USWDP office and the Denver University Technical Assistance. The program is chaired and overseen by the Herat University Economics Master's Degree Committee, which is responsible for all the administrative and academic affairs of the program.
This program is based on the needs assessment of the Honorable Graduate Support and Development Program (USWDP) Office, which was conducted in late 2015 and early 2016. The assessment was based on the analyses of Herat University campuses Herat's market needs. Considering the importance of this particular field, the Department of Commerce was also established.
It is worth mentioning that during 2017-2019 four training programs for professors, including the USWDP and Denver University Program, were hosted by the US and other accredited universities from each of the host countries. The trips were a great educational experience for the participants. The trips included a trip to Bombay, India, two to Shanghai, a trip to Kigali, Rwanda, and a trip to Cairo, Egypt, with the following benefits.
1. Appointment of Associate Professors (Associate Professor) by the Affiliate University (Denver University) for each of the modules and professors that are taught in this program whose list is provided in the Appendices.
2. Preparation and Arrangement of the Master's Degree Program at Herat University of Business Economics Master's Degree Program in collaboration with Associate Professors of (Denver University)
