Introduction

The importance of economy acquisition is one of the branches of social sciences which is rooted to unlimited needs of daily improving of human being that relates to scarce sources. Developing of private sectors of economy in a country is like an assurance of improving of a country and causes better living conditions of that people and society. Because economic development and its knowledge need to be acquired, many communities and authentic universities around the world are doing researches and investigations in this field. Necessity to the knowledge of economy is felt in both developed and the developing  countries  and especially, for the back-warded country like Afghanistan. Therefore, Herat University has decided to create the department of national economy in 1383 in order to help youth who have been interested in this department. The department of national economy with its skilled staffs intends to raise a step toward labor force of the country according to the Islamic laws and culture. In the area, with the help of Allah and the skilled staffs, personnel, students and the existence of equipment, this department efforts for high quality of education. Regarding to the above mentioned issues, the department of national economy is expected to reach and to find a better situation rather than the current position and possesses the following values.

  • Respecting the human and his cultural, national and religious beliefs in all aspects
  • Promoting the economy knowledge according to native and international criteria
  • Extending the professional culture of morality in economic matters
  • Graduating determined, highly skilled and inspired students
  • Updating curriculum and exploring the creative talents
  • Using the determined, skilled, dedicated academic staffs

The department of national economy with non-stoppable observation and supervising teaching of human force takes measure based on the recent and the most updated methods of teaching toward the extension of learning, increasing the situation of society, and function of economy. This department in order to meet its goals based on the expectations of society with skilled teachers, and with having the current equipment of academic and teaching affaires, persists in its researches and investigations successfully. The aim of this department is to insist on meeting and pursuing an effective and successful curriculum and academic activities in a needy society like Afghanistan.

  • Promoting the prevailing of academic and researching activities of students with appropriation of the department

Related purposes to strategy and function of the department in society:

  • Providing the possibility of active participation of organizations, businessmen  and expert people in the department
  • Developing the academic, learning and investigating collaborations with authorized centers in the city and country

Related purposes to the strategy of management and human resources:

  • Promotion of the rule of law and normative
  • Promotion and utilizing from effective system of observation
  • Promotion of management of human resources with persisting in hiring/attracting, preserving and developing
