Introduction

This department due to the estimation and needs of labor market with having the professional staffs was founded within faculty of economy in 1393. The banking and financial system are the two most important sectors of a country that in last decade had a dramatic development in the economy of the country. Banking system since its establishment in 1312 until the recent decade has had no development at all. Recently, the government has brought up some new changes in the system of its business and banking which had a lot of development from both quality and quantity visions. In order to develop and to standardize its banking activities in the country based on the needs of our society; this faculty has faced with lack of professional staffs in this field. Thus, this department by being observer to need of labor market, eventually, after a lot of modifications and reforms, has decided to create the banking department in 1393 in faculty of economy in Herat University. The perspectives and the goals of the department are to promote the education level of experts and the professional staffs in banking and financial affairs throughout the country. So, the department of banking in order to be benefited from core values within the economy faculty and persisting in norms, strategy, and its mission to be accomplished, has created and has relied on some important principles. These, as a matter of fact, are its master plans. The department is determined and honest to act accordingly.

The department of banking, by considering the above mentioned aims, has included all these principles in its plans. In its mission of statement of banking, it would be responsible and answer to crucial factors and basic issues of key beneficiary (internal & external) and special attention would be paid to them.
